Meet Liz Granberg-Jerome

Elizabeth Granberg-Jerome, custom quilter, teacher, designer, and owner of Gypsy Dreamer Quilts. Liz started quilting in 2006, making the transition from a lifetime of sewing to becoming passionate about quilting. Her quilts have a flavor all their own as she creates unique layouts and color play for one-of-a-kind quilts. She loves sharing her passion for piecing and quilting by teaching beginning quilting classes, introduction to free motion quilting on domestic or sit-down machines, and a wide variety of quilting techniques.

Scared Stitchless

Before sitting down to begin quilting your quilt, there are a number of things you should know.

  • What you need to know about choosing needles and threads, and how they work together
  • Which marking tools to use and why
  • Pre-marking or not
  • How your batting selection will affect the look of your quilt
  • How to sandwich your quilt layers

When you complete this course you will feel more confident in your knowledge of what goes into free motion quilting even before you sit down to quilt.

Needles & Thread

Matching your needle size to your thread weight can mean the difference between shredding your thread or smooth stitching. Learn more about how they work together.

To Mark or Not to Mark

Marking your quilts is entirely a personal preference. Some mark before pinning, others mark as they go, and some just stitch with little or no marking.

Batting Choices

Who knew there were so many batting choices! Cotton, wool, poly, silk, combinations, and more! Which one will give you the results you want for your quilt.
